CBSSports.com national columnist Gregg Doyel has issues with on-court celebrations
and one of his fans doesn't like how volleyball players celebrate points
on the volleyball court.
If we didn't celebrate, then the crowd wouldn't, then no volleyball on TV because it would
be a boring game.
Yes, this is the same Doyel who wrote about Tennessee student football fans
and their reaction to the whole Lane Kiffin goes to USC debacle. As a Lady Vol
from Cali, I almost feel like the child of divorced parents. Go figure...

Sitting Volleyball Coach Needed For Upcoming Warrior Games
The Defense Department and the United States Olympic Committee are
organizing the first edition of the Warrior Games. About 200 wounded warriors,
50 athletes from the Marines and 25 each from the Air Force and
Navy Coast Guard will compete on May 10 -14 in Colorado Springs.
The Air Force Services Agency Fitness Branch needs a volleyball coach
for the sitting volleyball team.

Volleyball World Lends A Hand To Haiti
NORCECA -that's North and Central America Volleyball Confederation donated 20,000 bottles of water to the victims in Haiti.
According to the FIVB: "The NORCECA Volleyball Confederation has created a special fund for those compassionate friends and institutions around the world with a desire to alleviate the suffering in Haiti.
Donations are welcomed at Wachovia Bank NA. Account 2000192003379, Swift Code PNBPUS3NNYC, ABA No 026005092. Beneficiary: Banco BDI SA for further credit to Confederación Norceca de Voleibol. Account: 4010019231."
The FIVB is raising funds, food and medicine in a joint effort with NORCECA to help Haiti victims.
"“The situation demands a common action of mercy from everyone who can contribute to relief the spiritual pain and provide the necessary medicine, food, water, as well as to supply material assistance for this nation in desperate need of help,” Mr. Marte Hoffiz said “Volleyball did not escape the effects of the disaster as the only playing facility in the country was completely destroyed and the family home of Jacques Joachim, former FIVB Board of Administration member and one of NORCECA founders, collapsed causing the death of his wife.”." Although Don Flora with New Mexico State volleyball was reportedly one of a couple of
finalists for the job the University Of the Pacific hired Greg Gibbons, former UC Santa
Barbara assistant coach who will become Charlie Wade's permanent replacement.
"They're waiting for a leader to come in and go at it," Gibbons said. "They were lacking a little bit of leadership, and we want to make it a little more intense. I want a lot of fighters and student-athletes that give their heart and soul."
